The so called ‘smoked’ style started a few years ago when I decided to make some furniture entirely by hand, and held together by joints alone, no screws or glue.
It developed from there, and essentially examines our perception of natural and man made objects.
It aims to be free from preconceived ideas of fashion and perfection, blending obviously man made parts with natural elements.
I have since gone back to using power tools, glue etc, however the style continues.
